STEPPING INTO ST.MARY’S
Hundreds of Primary 6 and Primary 7 pupils from across three counties visited St. Mary’s Grammar School, Magherafelt this week.
Along with their parents and guardians, the pupils attended one of the school’s Open Evenings held on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 January 2020. Both evenings brought a huge crowd of children and adults to the school, all eager to gain a first-hand insight into the St. Mary’s experience.
Welcoming the primary school children to St. Mary’s, Mr Dunlop, Acting Principal, said: “Tonight is very much about you. It is about giving you the opportunity to step inside our school, to have a look around, to meet our pupils and our staff, and to help you to understand what life in St. Mary’s is all about.” He continued: “As we begin this new decade, you are preparing to take a new direction in terms of your new school. We believe that we can offer you everything you could possibly want and need in a school and we hope that you will agree.”
Following the Principal’s Address, visitors enjoyed a guided tour of the school and took part in an array of activities, ranging from a Zumba session in the PE Department to a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in the English Department.
