Preventative Curriculum
Among our Pastoral Care priorities, we aim to provide a learner-informed, progressive and effective Preventative, Personal Development, and Relationships & Sexuality Education Curriculum, that is age appropriate and responsive to relevant and contemporary issues.
Our Preventative Curriculum seeks to inform and develop our young people in respect of many of the challenges they will face, both now and in the future, and provide them with the skills and knowledge required to make good choices in their lives. These issues are explored in Personal Development lessons, and occasionally through the use of external agencies.
Our current Preventative Curriculum offering has been informed by consultation with pupils, parents, and Pastoral Leaders, and includes education in relation to alcohol, drugs, vaping, gambling, mental health, inclusion, diversity, body image, self-esteem, period dignity, safe driving, and many more issues pertinent to young people today.
