Home/School Communication

In St. Mary’s, we aim to sustain effective school-home communication.

Often we will communicate with parents/guardians in the form of a letter. Sometimes, we will forward letters to home by post but, on occasion, we may send letters home with pupils. We will also make current letters home available on this section of our website. A key method of communication with our parents/ guardians, will be via text, where we may also attach letters.

As a school, we are very keen to foster effective home-school links and welcome opportunities for face to face meetings or telephone conversations with the parents/guardians of our pupils.

It can, however, present difficulties if a parent/guardian arrives into school expecting to see a member of staff without an appointment. If you wish to meet with a member of staff, we would ask that you telephone the School Office to make an appointment and we will make every effort to accommodate your request at our earliest convenience.

Should you wish to speak to a member of staff on the telephone, you should contact the School Office to request a return telephone call. Parents/guardians contacting the school by telephone will not be directly transferred to the member of staff to whom they wish to speak.
