In these challenging times for everyone, we know that protecting the mental health and emotional well-being of young people is so important.  Young people need to be supported to understand their mental health and encouraged to seek help if they are experiencing any personal struggle or difficulty.

As part of our commitment to promoting mental health and emotional well-being, St. Mary’s worked in partnership with Action Mental Health throughout March to offer pupils in Year 11 – Year 14 the opportunity to engage in a 1 hour online programme called “Provoking Thought” which was facilitated by Action Mental Health.  The aim of the programme was to increase young people’s understanding of mental health and resilience, as well as ensuring that they are aware of the range of support available to them should they have any concerns about their mental health and emotional well-being.

Thank you to Colette Slevin from Action Mental Health for delivering the programme and to Action Mental Health for providing the excellent resource booklet for pupils which accompanied the presentation.
