Empowering Young People: Ending Violence Against Women and Girls Workshop
On Wednesday, 5 November 2025, St Mary’s was proud to welcome Jude Millar from Healthy Lifestylez for a powerful and thought-provoking workshop on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG). This important initiative, generously funded by Mid Ulster District Council, aimed to educate and empower pupils in Years 11–14.
The one-hour interactive session focused on:
• promoting respect, consent, and gender equality;
• encouraging healthy relationships and understanding personal boundaries; and
• creating safe spaces for women and girls within our community.
Students explored the characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships and engaged in meaningful discussions around key concepts such as consent, sexism, domestic abuse, and misogyny. The workshop fostered open dialogue, encouraging young people to reflect on attitudes and behaviours that contribute to a safe, respectful, and inclusive society.
We extend our sincere thanks to Jude Millar for his excellent delivery of this valuable programme.
