St. Mary's Grammar School

A-Level Results 2026

Students at St. Mary's Grammar School, Magherafelt, are celebrating exceptional A-Level outcomes as another cohort of young people has secured outstanding examination results and taken the next step towards university, higher-level apprenticeships and a wide range of future careers.

The excellent outcomes continue a long tradition of academic excellence in the school as it approaches its 100th year, with 97.4% of grades achieved being in the A*-C band. Almost half of all grades achieved were at A*/A, reflecting the dedication, resilience and ambition shown by students throughout their Sixth Form journey.

Principal of St. Mary's, Mr Paul McClean, paid tribute to the achievements of the pupils and to all those who contributed to their success.

"We are delighted and immensely proud of this outstanding group of young people. These results are the culmination of years of hard work, determination and commitment, and they reflect the high aspirations our students have for themselves and their futures.

"Relationships are key to the successes achieved by young people in St. Mary’s and there are fantastic bonds between pupils, parents and staff. I would like to thank our teaching and support staff for the care, guidance and generosity of time they provide throughout the year. The achievements we celebrate today are built upon countless hours of preparation, encouragement and support.

"I also extend my sincere gratitude to parents and families for the trust they place in us and for the encouragement they provide to their children every day. Together, we have created a learning environment where young people are challenged to achieve their very best while being supported to develop as confident, caring and highly skilled individuals.

"While we rightly celebrate these excellent academic outcomes, we are equally proud of the character, leadership and contribution to school life demonstrated by this year group. As they move on to the next stage of their journey, we wish them every success and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in the years ahead."

The entire St. Mary's Grammar School community joins in congratulating the Class of 2026 on their remarkable achievements and wishes them every blessing for the future.
