A Level Students Achieve Magnificent Results

Mr Lambon, Principal of St. Mary’s Grammar School, congratulated his A Level students today on their magnificent performance in this year’s examinations. 

At A Level, an impressive 91.5% of all students achieved 3 or more Grades A-C, 59.6% of all grades were passed at Grade A and 86.2% of all grades were A or B.

At AS Level 56.5% of all grades were passed at Grade A and 85.4% of all grades were A or B.

Among the most outstanding results were: 

Ciaran McAuley who obtained 5 Grade A’s at A’ Level and Oonagh Scullion who obtained 4 Grade A’s at A’ Level and (AS);

30 students who each achieved 4 Grade A’s at A’ Level:

Conor Averell, Helen Bradley, Leanne Bradley, Breige Canavan, Niamh Clayton, Ciaran Coney, Carla Darragh, Ruairi Devlin, Joseph Duffin, Aine Groogan, Eadaoin Hegarty, Brendan Heron, Nuala Hughes, Aislin Johnston, Nicole Martin, Mark McAllister, Michele McAuley, Patrick McAuley, Kirsty McFall, Aoibhin McGarrity, Matthew McGuckin, Brian McKee, Christine McKenna, Dominic McKenna, Eimear McKenna, Grace McKenna, Maeve O’Connor, Ciara O’Kane, Damien O’Kane and Brian Quinn.

27 students who achieved 3 or more A Levels at Grade A:

Mr Lambon paid tribute to his students:

“This is a particularly talented year group and their results reflect their ability, hard work and commitment to their studies.  All of these students will now proceed to university and the most prestigious courses in the third level portfolio.  In these days of recession, the achievements of these students give us great confidence for the future.  I wish each of them continued success.”
