St Mary's Politics Society - 'Let's Talk' Event.

Students from the Politics Society at St. Mary’s Grammar hosted local MLAs at the school on 20^th October in a question and answer session on a wide range of current political issues.  

The MLAs included Raymond Mc Cartney of Sinn Fein, Mervyn Storey from the DUP, Basil Mc Crea from the UUP and Alex Attwood of the SDLP. The event followed the same format as the BBC’s ‘Let’s Talk’ show and topics for debate included recent political developments such as the controversy over the devolution of policing and justice. Students and staff from Magherafelt High School and St Pius X also took part in what was a lively and educational experience.
