Krakow Trip 2023
On the 7th November 39 History students and 5 staff travelled to Krakow, Poland and spent 4 days immersing themselves in the history and culture of the city. The students began their trip with a walking tour of the city guided by the lovely Marta who educated everyone on the city’s rich culture. Highlights of the tour included the market square, the castle and the cathedral. Day 2 included a trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau, an unforgettable experience for all. Day 3 and 4 included trips to the Wieliczka Saltmine, Schindler’s factory and a meeting with Lidia Maksymowicz a holocaust survivor. The students also had time to relax with some bowling, shopping, and experiencing a traditional Polish folklore night. The trip was an enriching experience for the students which helped to consolidate the learning in their A-level History.
