Irish language public speaking competition, Abair

The Irish Department are extremely proud of Darcie Conway following her recent speech as part of the renowned Irish language public speaking competition, Abair, held in Aonach Mhacha, Armagh’s Cultural Centre. 

 The prestigious event marks the final stage of the competition which saw preliminary rounds held in venues throughout Ulster. Darcie progressed from the Mid-Ulster bout delivering an accomplished speech entitled ‘An cóir is measa dá raibh riamh ann

During her final speech Darcie skilfully guided the audience with humour and solemnity through the challenges arising in family WhatsApp groups throughout the country. Darcie is a wonderful student of Irish and is proving to be a great ambassador for the school in regard to the language and today’s performance was testament to her dedication.
